Ivan Trofimoff

This morning Ivan came to see us to talk about his journey to become the first Mexican and Latin American to walk to the North Pole.

I saw:
Ivan's enormous, toasty-jacket.
His large, furry floppy hat.
His velvety pink mittens

I heard:
How to choose snow for an igloo
How dangerous finding your way across the ice.
Ivan's description of dancing, musical Aurora Borealis

I felt:
Scared for the Norwegian who fell through the ice.
Nervous for Ivan when he crossed the ice bridge.
Inspired by Ivan's perseverance when people laughed at him.

Thank you Ivan for speaking to us about your exciting journey to become an Arctic Explorer.

The amazing Dr Paul Moon comes to visit Year 4!

Dr Paul Moon is notable person because he is a famous historian. He writes about New Zealand's history. "I liked how he was humourous and how he showed us the weapons," said Grace.

"I think it was amazing how he got the God stick and axe handed down to him through different generations," thought Imogen

Notable person in the future ???

We watched this amazing Sunday Programme clip that related to our 'Sharing the Planet' and 'Where we are in Place and Time' inquiry.

We responded by looking at the characteristics and actions of 12 year Charlotte Thomas who met her adopted orang-utan Dora.
